My name is Sally, married to Ross for 20 years and have two children, Amanda 16 years and Brad 14 years.
After renovating an historical 100 year old church on our previous property, it was suggested to me that I should become a celebrant. It had been something that I had been thinking about and with a number of couples wishing to have me help them, the decision was easy.
Since being approved as a celebrant I have thoroughly enjoyed the privilage of being apart of the services that I have helped with. And all have been quite unique. Both civil unions and weddings.
My belief is that the day should be about the couple, their wishes, desires and what they want. It's my place to help with ideas and getting it all together, so that the service is as unique and personal to them.
It shouldn't be a stressful time, as it so often is, but a time of confidence, knowing that you are joining together on a continuing path towards the future and having fun along the way.
So remember, my involvement would be as a 'helper'. To give ideas and advice but not to tell you how to plan your day. After all, that's exactly what it is - Your day!
I have helped out with services in Invercargill, Riverton and surrounds, Nugget Point and Queenstown. People from overseas, South Island of New Zealand and the local community.
